Ubuntu中升级Firefox

我的Ubuntu系统自带的Firefox浏览器版本是17.0.1&＃xff0c;今天看到官网上最新版本已经到23了&＃xff0c;因此想将其升级一下。

对Linux不是很熟悉&＃xff0c;得益于搜索引擎&＃xff0c;最终将其成功升级&＃xff0c;这里记录一下操作过程。

升级Firefox

首先是下载Firefox&＃xff0c;我是从这里下载的&＃xff1a;http://firefox.com.cn/download/

火狐在linux下不提供安装包&＃xff08;如rpm或者deb包&＃xff09;下载&＃xff0c;只提供二进制可执行文件打包。下载可执行文件包&＃xff0c;解压后是可以直接用的&＃xff0c;但我们一般会进行一些配置。

我下载的是中文版的Firefox&＃xff0c;地址&＃xff1a;http://download.firefox.com.cn/releases/firefox/22.0/zh-CN/Firefox-latest.tar.bz2

安装flashplayer

Firefox开始的时候不能播放Flash视频&＃xff0c;虽然安装了Flashplayer&＃xff1b;Chrome浏览器可以正常播放&＃xff0c;但Firefox却无法正常播放&＃xff1b;原因不明&＃xff0c;下面记一下如何为Firefox安装Flashplayer插件。

首先下载插件&＃xff1a;http://get.adobe.com/cn/flashplayer/

我的Ubuntu是64位的&＃xff0c;所以下载下来的tar.gz包如下&＃xff1a;

将其解压&＃xff0c;得到libflashplayer.so和readme.txt两个文件&＃xff0c;另外还有一个usr文件夹&＃xff1b;打开readme.txt文本文件&＃xff0c;里面有一段安装说明介绍了如何安装flashplayer&＃xff0c;内容如下&＃xff1a;

Installing using the plugin tar.gz:o Unpack the plugin tar.gz and copy the files to the appropriate location. o Save the plugin tar.gz locally and note the location the file was saved to.o Launch terminal and change directories to the location the file was saved to.o Unpack the tar.gz file. Once unpacked you will see the following:&＃43; libflashplayer.so&＃43; /usro Identify the location of the browser plugins directory, based on your Linux distribution and Firefox versiono Copy libflashplayer.so to the appropriate browser plugins directory. At the prompt type:&＃43; cp libflashlayer.so o Copy the Flash Player Local Settings configurations files to the /usr directory. At the prompt type:&＃43; sudo cp -r usr/* /usr

首先拷贝libflashplayer.so到浏览器的plugins目录&＃xff0c;对我的浏览器来说是/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/目录&＃xff1b;其次是拷贝usr目录到/usr目录下&＃xff0c;这样就为Firefox浏览器成功安装了flashplayer插件。

命令如下

tar -zxvf install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64.tar.gz
sudo cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/
sudo cp -r usr/* /usr
