Baderror"canopenfile"

I get this message on my site and in the database
itself....
"Can't open file: 'sessions.MYI'. (errno: 145)". In
PHPmyAdmin, the table 'sessions' says it is 'in use'.
I am very new to using this and am not sure what I can
do to remedy this. I am using the OScommerce
(open-source) shopping cart that generated all of the
database back-end. Right now the site doesn't function
and could use a quick hand...thanks
